The Fate Of Part time Lecturers In Chuka University
WHAT IS THE FATE OF PART TIME LECTURERS??? WHO KNOWS!
There is a swahili saying that goes "Usiache Mbachao kwa msala upitao"....Lecturers are on strike since they want a pay-rise, however, an offer was tabled to them but they remained with their stand of solidarity Forever, so they are still home maybe drinking uji ya saa kumi. for most institutions the students have been sent home. however, for Chuka university its business as usual, thanks to the VC Prof Erastus Njoka. He has ensured the lecturers are in class dispite the strike.this comes about, after he hired part time lecturers to take over.
Now here is the problem, regular lecturers ni kama kamsoto kameingia, they want to get back to class, the part time one are working on a three month contract and ain't leaving classes any soon....sema kukaukiwa. inabidi lecturers waanze kuclash classes as seen in Nursing classes. Too bad. kufundishwa na two lecturers the same unit!!! next time they should accept the first offer na kazi iendelee as they relax to ask for more later. they usually forget they are civil servant of the government that cuts 30% tax from their salaries leaving them with meagre earnings by end month.
For now wacha warelax part time wachape kazi. Comrades are loyal as long as classes are attended to.
